It only takes five minutes of listening to any of Parker Elementary’s musical classroom instruction to appreciate the difference music can make in a child’s life. From voice to strings and piano teachers, the acclaimed music instructors at Parker Elementary are dedicated to sharing their love of music with students.
What better way for a student to see science, mathematics and foreign language in action than through harmony, musical notes, and rhythm? What better way to learn what can be accomplished by dedication, practice, and teamwork than by singing in a choral choir?
Parker Elementary students, once accepted into the music magnet program, are enrolled in one hour of group music instruction each day Monday through Friday as well as a private weekly session with the music teacher and parent. Musical instruments are provided.
The accomplished teachers and students of the Parker Elementary music magnet program are proud recipients of several awards:
2002 National Grammy Award (Selected from over 6,000 entrants)
